Mr. Chris Emmanuel "Goonie" Harrison, Jr., 29, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, was born on December 27, 1983 in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina to Yenetta Parker-Purnell and the late Chris Emmanuel Harrison, Sr. On October 27, 2013, Chris was released of this physical world and received unto the Gates of Heaven.
Chris was the eldest of his siblings. He graduated from Northwest Halifax High School and continued his education at Motorcycle Mechanic Institute of Orlando, Florida, receiving his diploma and becoming a professional Suzuki Mechanic.
There to receive Chris into the Gates of Heaven is his father: Chris Emmanuel Harrison, Sr.; brother: Michael “Pluckie” Purnell, Jr.; maternal grandparents: Major and Viola Parker; and paternal grandparents: Junious and Cecelia Harrison.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents: Yenetta and Michael Purnell; son, Montra Watson; siblings: Alston Parker, Brittany Purnell, and Ashley Parker of Baltimore, MD and Audwin (Tman) Parker of Roanoke Rapids, NC; aunts: Vivian Parker of Rocky Mount, NC, Renee Sledge of Baltimore, MD, Sharon (Tony), Margaret (Leon) Dupree, Vernetta Harrison, Angela (Johnny), Sabina and Anita Kearse of Roanoke Rapids, NC; uncles: Robert Ussery (Sandra) of Garysburg, NC, Charles Parker (Barbara) of Battleboro, NC, Major and Kelvin Parker of Baltimore, MD, Wayne (Lavern) and Audwin, Sr. (Carol) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; great-aunts: Evelyn Burgess and Willie Mae Ussery; two nephews: Ammon Barber and Je’welz Parker, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one niece: Niya Mallory; one goddaughter: Me’Kiah Smith; one god-sister: LiNautic Hardy; special friends: Traven Jones, Reesheda (Kelvin) Taylor, and Mia Ward, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; close cousins: Laressa Copeland, Connie Parker, Jr. (June Bug), De’Erricka Ussery, and Audrey Parker, all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
A Visitation for Mr. Harrison will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the Funeral Service following the Visitation, beginning at 2:30 p.m., on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at First Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The Interment will take place immediately after the Service in Lowe's Family Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
