Mrs. Beatrice Virginia Kee "Tweet" Vick, 77, of Garysburg, North Carolina.
On the evening of April 29, 2011 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, our Almighty and Precious God called home one of His humble servants, Beatrice Kee Vick.
She was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mabel Kee. Beatrice K. Vick was born in Northampton County, North Carolina. She received her education through the Northampton County School System.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior, joining the St. John Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Garysburg, North Carolina where she served as a Deaconess, Junior Choir Advisor, Missionary, Senior Choir Member, and a member of the Hospitality and Pastor’s Aide Committees until her health began to decline.
Beatrice was married to the late Edward T. Vick in October of 1955. This union was blessed with two children, Danny and Tyrone.
Beatrice worked at J.P. Stevens and Company, The Bibb Company, and WestPoint Stevens, Incorporated until her retirement.
In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by one sister: Jessie Edwards and two brothers: Wilkins Kee and Elliott Kee.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons: Danny Vick (Cynthia) and Tyrone Vick (Lynette), all of Conyers, GA; four grandchildren: Leslie Allen (Jeremiah) of Alexandria, VA, Jeremy, Craig (Sonita), and Tyler, all of Conyers, GA; two great-grandchildren: Caleb and Alicia, both of Conyers GA; three sisters: Helen Faye Alston (James), Christine Moody (Jance), and Evonna Moody (David), all of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two brothers: Warren Kee and Rufus Kee, both of Garysburg, NC; two sisters-in-law: Geraldine Holmes of Utah and Jean Kee of Roanoke Rapids, NC; one brother-in-law: Carlton Vick of Washington, DC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
A Visitation for Mrs. Vick will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, May 6, 2011, in the Roanoke Rapids Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Garysburg, NC. Rev. Joseph Battle will be officiating. The interment will take place immediately following the service in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
